Working Principal
Recognized as an integral voice in the architecture community, Laurie’s work has received numerous accolades, including an AIA Medal of Merit and design awards from local and state organizations.
As a working Principal, Laurie's experience as a project manager delivers introspective design that fulfills the client’s functional needs while considering both their fiscal and scheduling goals. She successfully manages budgets, resolves issues, and coordinates with consultants in order to meet project goals and deadlines. In addition to her professional work, Laurie serves as a tentative and thoughtful mentor to young professionals working as associates in her close-knit German Village office. Her gift is bringing out the best in her team and delivering hand-crafted solutions, project after project.
Kevin Parzych, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Principal
Graduate of the Knowlton School of Architecture and registered architect with over 10 years of practice, Kevin brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the studio.
Kevin builds relationships with clients in order to understand their needs and communicate their goals through design and expert coordination with consultants. With his strong intuition and dedication to the fulfillment of projects, Kevin has become an attentive leader and integral part of our team.
Jake Bibbo
Architectural Associate
Jake Bibbo joined GAI after graduating from the Knowlton School of Architecture at The Ohio State University. Bringing experience from his internship at a construction company, Jake contributes a practical understanding of design and building processes to the team. His enthusiasm and commitment to learning make him a valuable addition to every project he undertakes, and he’s excited to grow within GAI’s collaborative environment.
Sam Olmsted
Architectural Associate
Sam is a graduate of Miami University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. Since graduation, Sam has resided in the Columbus area, gaining experience working mainly on multi-family, mixed-use, and student housing projects. Sam brings this work experience, along with technical expertise in Revit modeling to GAI. In his free time, Sam enjoys playing musical instruments, hiking, and exploring post-industrial small-town Ohio.
Amy Barnhart
Business Manager
Equipped with a B.A. from the University of Cincinnati, Amy joined GAI as the Business Manager, bringing 15 years of Architectural studio management experience. She supports and leads small businesses with their project and office management, human resources, and accounting functions. She works with clients and architects on resource management, schedules and cost efficiencies.
Canon Gunzelman
DOG K+9
Canon is a Great Dane who loves to greet clients and visitors to the office and to be called a good girl. She loves taking walks throughout the neighborhood and admiring the architecture (or it could be the other dogs).

The successful candidate should present:
Registered Architect with a B. Arch. or M.Arch. degree from an accredited university
A minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in an architectural firm
Self-starter with strong design abilities and capable of resolving complex aesthetic and technical challenges to produce efficient, constructible solutions
Experience successfully managing projects ranging from $1 million – $10 million design projects, including scopes, budgets, schedules, deliverables, etc. , and coordinating design consultants and internal team members
Ability to serve as a leader in the realization of design vision into completed projects
Strong communication skills and confidence to be the liaison between the office, clients, contractors, and consultants and actively participate in client and design team meetings Expert use of REVIT
Understanding of the Ohio Building Code, Zoning Code and ADA requirements
Experience in specification writing and performing Quality Control Reviews
Team and detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills, and strong problem-solving skills with the ability to guide junior staff in the production of drawings
Ability to manage multiple projects and project teams simultaneously
Knowledge of construction methods and details and expertise in preparation of construction documents Multi-family and commercial and higher education design experience
Ability to play an active role in business development and client management
Applicant should present strengths in written, verbal and graphic communication using Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) and Autodesk REVIT software. GAI is an equal opportunity employer.
