Canadian Summer

I wanted to make sure my kids grew up experiencing and appreciating nature, as I had experienced it, growing up in Canada.

What we found at Whiskey Jack was exactly what I had in mind, and more to boot.

Strawbale Construction

I met with Caleigh near the end of my week at Whiskey Jack.

Craftsmanship hand-made community came together to learn and build.

Living at High Lake

I can't resist sharing one of the special pleasures of this property. The outhouse. It is my second-favorite outhouse ever (stay tuned to my follow up blog on the best outhouse I've ever seen) as it is perfectly positioned for privacy and lake views. As you might notice from the photo above, the dutch door style allows the user to open the top half of the door. This allows for ventilation and magnificent morning views of the lake.
