As a working Principal, Laurie's experience as a project manager delivers a design that fulfills the client’s functional needs while complementing their fiscal and scheduling goals. She successfully manages budgets, resolves issues, coordinates consultants and executes schedules. Gunzelman is extremely thorough and attentive, and her precise approach to project management allows her to deliver both professional services and exceptional quality.
Laurie’s design sensibility was established early with an education in Fine Arts. After living in England for three years and touring Europe, she became intrigued with the value of architecture. While receiving a Master of Architecture degree in 2002 from The Ohio State University, Ms. Gunzelman was honored with an AIA Medal of Merit.
Ms. Gunzelman has won design awards from both local and state professional organizations. She has successfully run projects ranging in size from $200K to $24 million. Her professional experience includes office, mixed-use, higher education, government, boutique retail and multi-family projects. She has years of experience working with government agencies including Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Greene County, City of Enon and the Ohio State University.

The successful candidate should present:
B.Arch. or M.Arch. degree from an accredited university, registration is not necessary
Two or more years of experience in an architectural firm
Be a self-starter who has excellent design abilities and project management skills
Confidence to be the liaison between office, clients, contractors and consultants
Expert use of REVIT and SketchUp software as construction document production and project presentation tools
Understanding of the Ohio Building Code and ADA requirements
Experience in working and coordinating with consultants and clients
Experience in specification writing and performing code reviews
Be team and detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills and strong problem-solving skills
Knowledge of construction methods and details and expertise in preparation of construction documents – drawings, specifications, estimates
Multi-family design experience preferred but not required and should be familiar with wood structural systems
Works well in a collaborative and open office environment
Independent management of small projects
Applicant should present strengths in both written, verbal and graphic communication using Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) and power point and REVIT software.
