Laurie Gunzelman

As a working Principal, Laurie's experience as a project manager delivers a design that fulfills the client’s functional needs while complementing their fiscal and scheduling goals. She successfully manages budgets, resolves issues, coordinates consultants and executes schedules. Gunzelman is extremely thorough and attentive, and her precise approach to project management allows her to deliver both professional services and exceptional quality.

Laurie’s design sensibility was established early with an education in Fine Arts. After living in England for three years and touring Europe, she became intrigued with the value of architecture. While receiving a Master of Architecture degree in 2002 from The Ohio State University, Ms. Gunzelman was honored with an AIA Medal of Merit. 

Ms. Gunzelman has won design awards from both local and state professional organizations. She has successfully run projects ranging in size from $200K to $24 million. Her professional experience includes office, mixed-use, higher education, government, boutique retail and multi-family projects. She has years of experience working with government agencies including Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Greene County, City of Enon and the Ohio State University.

Kevin Parzych AIA LEED AP

Kevin is a Registered Architect and graduate of the Knowlton School of Architecture at The Ohio State University. He has over 10 years experience practicing Architecture both in Chicago and at GAI. Kevin builds relationships with clients to understand their needs along with those of the project.

Joel Ronschke

As an experienced designer and creative director, Joel works with clients to create inspiring spaces that bring brand and culture together in the built environment. His experience in retail, healthcare, senior living, mixed-use developments, commercial office spaces and residential design projects give him a unique insight into client needs.  Energized by bringing the latest trends to clients, Joel developed expertise in workplace strategy and has guided clients through the research and design of workplace of the future. Joel is a graduate of The School of Design at The Ohio State University and holds NCIDQ and LEED AP certifications.

Breanna Parker

Breanna is a graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. She brings experience in BIM and design. She is passionate about improving neighborhoods by advancing architecture and buildings.

Skylar Briggs

Skylar is a recent graduate of the Knowlton School of Architecture at The Ohio State University. Skylar started at GAI as an intern and is now a full time Associate. Skylar’s initiative, willingness to learn and think outside of the box is refreshing and will benefit clients and projects for years to come.

Andy Failor

Andy recently graduated with a Masters of Architecture at University of Cincinnati. While a student, Andy did co-ops at several firms giving him experience in Construction Documentation and Construction Administration. GAI will benefit from Andy’s technical expertise using Revit. In Andy’s free time he is studying to take his exams pursuing licensure.

Amy Barnhart

Amy joined GAI as the Business Manager bringing 15 years of Architectural studio management experience. She supports and leads small businesses with their project and office management, human resources and accounting functions. She works with clients and architects on resource management, schedules and cost efficiencies. Amy has a BA from University of Cincinnati.

Canon Gunzelman

Canon is a Great Dane who loves to greet clients and visitors to the office and to be called a good girl. She loves taking walks throughout the neighborhood and admiring the architecture (or it could be the other dogs).

The successful candidate should present:

  • B.Arch. or M.Arch. degree from an accredited university, registration is not necessary

  • Two or more years of experience in an architectural firm

  • Be a self-starter who has excellent design abilities and project management skills

  • Confidence to be the liaison between office, clients, contractors and consultants

  • Expert use of REVIT and SketchUp software as construction document production and project presentation tools

  • Understanding of the Ohio Building Code and ADA requirements

  • Experience in working and coordinating with consultants and clients

  • Experience in specification writing and performing code reviews

  • Be team and detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills and strong problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of construction methods and details and expertise in preparation of construction documents – drawings, specifications, estimates

  • Multi-family design experience preferred but not required and should be familiar with wood structural systems

  • Works well in a collaborative and open office environment

  • Independent management of small projects

Applicant should present strengths in both written, verbal and graphic communication using Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) and power point and REVIT software.
